The Higher Institute of Civil Protection Studies (ISEPC) has officially opened the 2026 session of the International Course on Crisis and Disaster Management, presided over by Lieutenant-Colonel Zouno Gérard BAMBARA, Director General of the ISEPC.

Held against a global and regional backdrop of increasingly complex security, humanitarian, economic, and climate crises, this session brings together officials, experts, regional governors, high commissioners, and civil protection practitioners and stakeholders from 15 African countries: Benin, Comoros, Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville, Gabon, Guinea (Conakry), Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Mali, Niger, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Chad, Togo, and Burkina Faso.

Over the course of two weeks, participants will strengthen their capacities in crisis and disaster prevention, preparedness, coordination, and management, within a framework that fosters the sharing of experiences, mutual learning, and the building of cooperation networks.

This session is organized with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); the ISEPC acknowledges with appreciation the UNDP’s invaluable assistance in bolstering the capacities and resilience of stakeholders and communities.

Through this initiative, the ISEPC reaffirms its role as an African center of excellence for training, research, and cooperation in civil protection, dedicated to fostering societies that are better prepared and more resilient in the face of crises.

Training, cooperating, and anticipating to ensure better protection.

ISEPC: Training to save lives.
