On Friday, June 19, 2026, the Higher Institute for Civil Protection Studies (ISEPC) hosted the official graduation ceremony for the new class of fire service officers, marking the culmination of a demanding training program dedicated to strengthening the capacities of civil protection personnel in Africa.

This class comprises thirty (30) trainees, including five (5) women, from fourteen (14) African countries. It reflects the shared commitment of the participating nations to develop common expertise and promote regional cooperation in the field of civil protection.

The ceremony included several key moments, notably speeches by authorities, the presentation of diplomas, and recognition of the trainees' achievements. These events celebrated the dedication and efforts of these future civil protection leaders.

At the start of his address, Lieutenant Colonel Zouno Gérard BAMBARA, Director General of the Higher Institute for Civil Protection Studies, commended the completion of this initial training for fire service officers, the culmination of several months of effort, rigor, and commitment. He expressed his gratitude to the instructors, teaching staff, and all those who contributed to the success of this graduating class. He also urged the class to remain committed to the values of discipline, excellence, solidarity, and integrity that underpin the fire service.

Speaking on behalf of his classmates, Second Lieutenant Gaoussou TAGNAN, the class representative, expressed his profound gratitude to all the institute's leaders and staff for their support throughout the training. At the end of this journey marked by rigor, discipline and self-improvement, he reaffirmed the determination of the new class to honor the values of the firefighter profession and to responsibly assume the missions that will be entrusted to them.
